Attitude is the way you carry yourself toward people, places, situation, or the way you approach things, circumstances. That will determine how far you will go with the people, the job ‘the relationship... Good attitude brings good results while the bad one brings the bad results.

We are reading Luke19: 1-10 NKJV

Seeking he sought to see who Jesus was

The main purpose of Zacchaeus in seeking Jesus was simply to know who Jesus was, nothing else. Zacchaeus, comes from the Hebrew name Zakkai, meaning pure or innocent. He was pure in his seeking for Jesus as the meaning of his name, there was no hidden agenda.

There is a difference between the two words Looking is a quick scan that settles fast and is not persistent while Seeking is a searching with intention, Not giving up until we find what we want, Going the extra mile . His desire to know Jesus was intentionally, He made it this pursuit, purpose therefore he went beyond limitations, his social rank, his job, his wealth, and even the crowd could not block him.

We cry, complain ,change from one church to another , one servant to another but the really matter is our attitude in approaching God trough churches , servants of God even our personal life when no one is there, if we seek for God it will be seen through our engagement , commitment , it is a personal matter, a relationship to get to see the Lord ,no crowd, no system , no looking for someone to make us comfortable, we will go even in place where if it wasn’t for seeking God we will never go there, we will fast, pray ,read the bible and find our joy in the mist of the people of God.

I remember in my Christian journey there was a time we were not sleeping at our house, just to go for overnight prayer to the servant of God and the next morning going to school, it was all for the love of Jesus and to know Him no one could stopped me or tell me to do so all my heart was seeking to know Jesus. I could hear the teachings of Jesus for hours not getting tired could go to mountain for prayers. The more we seek for Him, the more he reveals Himself to us.

And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13.

Seeking is a matter of heart not of brain, it is searching with purpose, until I found Jesus in my heart and know who He is and Jesus is so big, the notion of knowing Him will never stop until we go to meet Him.

Humility

Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature. So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way.

Zacchaeus approached Jesus with humility. Zacchaeus had wealth, influence, and connections. He could easily have requested Jesus through his position but he didn’t. Instead, he climbed a tree, put aside his status, rich man, chief tax collector, short man, and placed everything under Jesus. He went climbing a tree. His actions were a way of telling Jesus: “You are higher than me. You are more than who I am or what I have. You are the One I seek. You are all that I want.”

God seeks hearts that are humble , it is the hearts that is in need of Him. Humility is when we may have everything or nothing, yet we lay it down for Jesus. We may be mocked or criticized, applaud but because we know our motive which is Christ, we keep going. Humility is a heart posture we must have when approaching the Lord. “Happy are people who are humble, because they will inherit the earth.” Matthew 5:5 (CEB)

Jesus is the perfect example of humility ,Himself shows us the truth heart of humbleness by accepting the death of the cross also being God. but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Philippians 2:7–8( NKJV)

Joy

And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him: “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house. “So he made haste and came down and received Him joyfully.

Zacchaeus climbed a tree, an humble act, yet Jesus noticed him. Jesus saw beyond his actions into his heart, the heart that needed a Savior. It is the joy that Zacchaeus had by find what he was seeking for that makes him to respond in haste in receiving Jesus.

Jesus comes into our house, our heart. We must receive Him joyfully because we need Him. When Jesus enters, change happens: Zacchaeus said: “I will give half of my goods to the poor. I will restore four times whatever I took.” This was complete repentance. We cannot come into the presence of Jesus and remain the same. We come as we are, but we do not stay as we came. A right attitude brings transformation. Meeting Jesus is the beginning of a new life.

The attitude of Zacchaeus did not go unnoticed. Jesus saw him. Jesus will not pass you by ,He sees the heart that seeks Him in humility with joy. That attracts Him to your life.

People with the right attitude are children of Abraham, they receive Jesus joyfully.

The children of God have a stamp upon them; wherever they go, it is seen. Theis heart are pure , They have Right attitude that produces right choices that can turn one from what is wrong, in accepting change , repentance , and transformation because longing to see God is their aim . Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.Matthew5:8 NKJV
